I recently was provided two gift cards from Kwik Trip from my employer. When I went to use them, I was told I still owed 28.00 out of 30.00. It turns out that they were purchased in Jan. 2012, so Kwik Trip decided to deduct 14.00 from each card (2.00/month since start of 2013). How is this fair to the person being awarded the card. Employers may purchase a bulk amount just for this purpose, but not hand them all out within a year. Then when a person does receive it, they are to be penalized for this. This does not seem fair to the employee or the employer. This items are purchase as gifts. The store/business has already made money on them, they shouldn’t be making more money on them at someone else’s expense.
